Functioning
For the test the foot is secured on a glimbal-mounted baseplate and subjected
to a preset loading by way of a hydraulic ram. Depending on the position of the
upper or lower load-application lever, varying forces are generated, e.g. axial
forces, moment in a sagittal and frontal direction, and torque. The loadings are
measured in a measuring pylon by strain gauges. Measurement of the preset force
is performed by a load cell located just behind the hydraulic ram. ( next
