With the aid of a scraper template, the places for the notches in the proposed
testing range are marked according to the testing standard. The instrument is
subjected to tension and adjusted between to opposite marks. After disengaging
the hammer head flies down on the test surface where it produces a rectilinear
dent; the procedure is repeated in accordance with the distance of the next mark.
The adhesive strength is good if there are no bursts of the zinc coating between
the dents. If only a general information about the adhesive strenth is required,
the mark scraper does not need to be applied.
The testing instrument is delivered with a test certificate of the State Test
Laboratory in Darmstadt.
