The requirements of the developed micro tensile testing machine:
- The elimination of bending influences with homogeneous deformation, as well
as simple sample restraint.
- An mN exact force measurement with an µm-exact displacement control and
contactless strain measurement.
The complete testing device consists of:
- the load framework in a conventional one-spindle tensile testing machine,
- force and displacement measuring electronics with digital data acquisition for
the entire test period;
- digitally control of the conventional tensile testing machine and;
- the optical displacement measuring system for contactless measurement of the
deformation of the sample.
The load framework, with force and strain measurement, is soft compared to the
tensile testing machine and sufficiently rigid compared to the sample. The force
is applied directly by means of the jamming of the sample to the force sensor.
